Place: Hardrock Café, Makati City
Till the last minute I couldn't believe that it would happen. It is like saying that Elvis is still alive! But the unexpected did occur - UP room's notorious gang crashed into the first anniversary of WW2BAM's GEB at Hardrock Café.
The original plan was to meet at Wendy's in G4 and from there we decide where to go. Although that afternoon we are already tinkering with the idea of going to the GEB because of the promised free entrance (mukha talagang freebie). With Raine even getting Trueasiactictribe's mobile number (oist Raine naka-store pa rin ba sa cp mo…uyyyyyy). But at that time I just treated all these as a prank.
6:30 - I am late in meeting Jules at National Bookstore. I entered the store and went quickly to the filipiniana section. I didn't bother to crane my neck and look for her. Because I'm sure she would slip beside me in no time at all. True enough after less than a minute, Jules came up beside me. If you haven't met her just watch "The Lord of the Rings" and see the hobbits in action (lab u Jules!!).
7:00 - We are now outside Wendy's in G4 busy looking at those cute guys hanging around Starbucks. Then, as if on cue my stomach began to grumble. I told Jules, "I'm hungry." And she agreed to have dinner while waiting for the rest of the gang. But the problem was my cell phone was on low-batt already. As fast as I could, I sent a text to Raine informing her that we are eating at Pancake house. Hmmmmmm…I can still taste the mango crepe in my tongue.
8:30 - As usual Raine is late again. But Jules and I really don't care; we are still in heaven after the luscious meal at Pancake house. Of course that isn't the case with Sol and Mike (the innocents in this crazy adventure) who are already very hungry. I can tell by the way that they are looking at my right arm. (Sol, hindi kinakain yan, mataba lang talaga.)
Finally the queen (Raine) arrived with Fishball in tow (FYI, Fish is a looker in the flesh…fish penge fishball). Fish is still trying to change our minds and go with her to Pier One in Libis to no avail. It was set we are going to Hardrock!!
8:45 - Hardrock was already jam-packed and the cue was long already. Raine called True and asked if we can still join them. True was so nice to meet us outside, sadly informing us that their table was already full. Of course I didn't hear the whole conversation since I was hiding behind Jules (which is so impossible I'm telling you!). But Sweet_temptress (who is super sexy and oh so nice) intervened and allowed us to have that free entrance. And the moment of truth came…We met some of the WW2BAM chatters. The thing is I'm the only one in the group who really knows these people since I've been chatting with them for quite some time now. We are introduced to the friendly Carpe_diem, tusok_tusok_d pisbol, the infamous Epang, supernice Ivette, Vindiesel, Tandang_saurus, Ate mega (omegamall), hunnycs and others (sorry I forgot who they are L ).
9:30 - We got a table at the second floor of Hardrock. It is not a strategic place at all, well except if you want to go the ladies room. Jules and I even stayed at the bar because there were no chairs available. Maybe I should file a complaint against Hardrock. The management should anticipate the number of people going to their establishment. Well, that is beside the point. We had fun anyway making up stories why the bartender is always frowning. He wouldn't even give us our drinks when we ordered. Maybe he thought, what are these two kids doing in my bar? Or maybe he didn't believe that we could pay for the drinks!
11:00 - We went down from our hiding place to hear South Border. It was really crowded downstairs. But it was alright, I mean with a hottie next to me why wouldn't it be right? The band played senti songs, which almost made me fall asleep. So to keep myself awake I headbang when Kyla sang "Only Hope" with Jules banging her head with me.
At last they played some fast tunes. Oh we were dancing like crazy then. Even the WW2BAM chatters were up on their feet wriggling their bodies. It was a sight indeed. Even Raine was shaking her booty.
Mike3legged aka Basic_human_screwedness managed to catch up with us. But you can tell that the loud music was not to his liking (sorry kuya hehehehe). It was déjà vu of sorts of another time we went dancing at Hardrock. So we danced and danced and danced again until our feet hurts.
We went home at around 2 AM. Well it was an experience worth reminiscing. This is one for the books - Our first GEB ever! And what fun we had.
Special thanks to the guys and girls of WW2BAM for letting us party with you.
And may you have more anniversaries to come.
